Call for Submissions! Artist in Residency Program Summer 2016


One selected artist will receive two months of studio space at Confluence Gallery from July 1st – Aug 31st and an exhibition reception September 3rd 2016.

Studio space is located on the second floor of the Confluence Gallery and Art Center. The studio is 300sq ft, with two divided workstations. The studio has windows for natural light and access to a communal kitchen, an outdoor deck and two bathrooms. Artists will have 24 hour access to the studio.

The Mural residency at Confluence Gallery is a unique opportunity to combine personal practice, community engagement, and the creation of civically-focused public art. Artists will work with gallery staff to design a public art Mural on the Confluence Gallery building that captures the spirit of the Methow Valley, WA. Local artists and students may be involved during the installation of the mural.

Artists will receive a $150 stipend for paint and will provide all other materials needed to create the mural. Materials used during the residency must be conducive to a public working environment near offices and other studios. Please no loud tools or toxic materials.

The mural created in the residency must be completed and ready to display by September 3rd for an opening reception at the Confluence Gallery.
