Gallery Lighting Goes Green!

Gallery Lighting Goes Green!

The proper lighting of art is essential to an art gallery. Confluence Gallery was in need of replacing aging fixtures and adding new ones safely to the system while gaining the ability to highlight areas that were under-served. As our goal was to increase lighting capacity with a limited power resource, LED lighting was determined to be the best option.

The gallery was using a mix of compact fluorescent and Halogen bulbs which produce a lot of heat and have a short life span. LED bulbs are generally more durable, do not produce heat, have a longer life span, and are more environmentally friendly. We have chosen two types of LED bulbs combined to offer a spectrum of light that is favorable to art display.

Thanks to generous contributions from the Moccasin Lake Foundation, GiveMethow campaign, and artist Mary Powell, we have completed the changeover to LED lighting in the gallery! Our super electrician Pat Norwil has installed a stellar system that really enhances the gallery. Please stop in and see the improvement, things are really shining brightly here!
