Dancing the Wild Symphony performance at Confluence Gallery

Dancing the Wild Symphony
An experiential embodied dance performance with
Christina Stout and students

August 26th 6pm
@ Confluence Gallery Twisp, WA

Join us for the closing reception of Confluence Gallery exhibit Music as Muse
Friday, August 26th 4-8pm
as we explore how music works as creative inspiration for artists.

Attendees will be treated to a special improvisational dance performance by local teaching artist Christina Stout. The performance follows a four day workshop

Dancing the Wild Symphony: An Embodied Exploration into How the Sounds of Nature Move Us” where Christina has guided students to allow the other-than-human music of the natural world to move us and move through us in unexpected ways. Through group, partner, and individual explorations and experiments workshop participants begin moving beyond habitual perceptual and movement patterns in order to facilitate embodied relationship, personal process, and develop expressive material for this culminating performance at Confluence Gallery.

Music as Music is a partnership exhibit with the Methow Valley Chamber Music Festival. A portion of commissions will be donated to the festival, a non-profit organization that presents high-quality concerts with musicians from around the world at venues in the Methow Valley. A series of FREE concerts and performances will be presented at Confluence Gallery during this exhibit.
