Gift Shop Spotlight: Wild at Heart Fine Silver Designs!

Confluence Gallery is pleased to feature Michele Brouwer of Wild at Heart Fine Silver Designs in our gift shop jewelry lounge!
Michele creates a fantastic line of handmade jewelry out of precious metal clay. This material is an organic clay infused with tiny particles of pure fine silver. When fired in the kiln, the clay burns away fusing the precious metal resulting in a piece of .999 pure solid silver. She gives special care to each piece from its beginning as a lump of clay through each step of designing, hand forming, sanding, drilling, firing, antiquing, polishing and finally hand wiring them with semi-precious stones. Michelle then attaches high quality sterling silver components, chains and earring wires to the handmade pieces.

We have a fresh new selection of Michele's fine work in the gallery gift shop. These pieces are perfect for wearing everyday and make fantastic gifts for your special someone.

Through the years Michelle has explored many mediums of art but it wasn't until she and her husband moved to the Methow Valley in 1999 that she made art my career. She quit her job in the business world and started a pottery business, Painted Earth Pottery. She sold work in local shops in Winthrop and Twisp and various art markets. In 2007, Michele began designing and making jewelry and Wild at Heart Fine Silver Designs was born. She tells us "I’ve always loved silver jewelry, and with the discovery of silver clay, I realized that I could combine my love of working with clay and creating beautiful works of art to wear in pure silver. I’ve been careful to design a line of jewelry that can be enjoyed by a wide range of ages and tastes which makes them easy to give as a gift…..even a gift to yourself."

Michele and her husband love the Methow Valley and it's beauty has always inspired her work. She loves the outdoors... trail running and hiking in the forest with her dogs is one of her favorite things to do next to making jewelry. The fresh air and the smell of the woods is a great way to get her mind working on new creative ideas. Michelle's goal is to create unique designs that make every day special whether it's adding an artistic touch to casual day of t-shirt & jeans or a special night out.
